Spend a fantastic day in the Sicani mountains, an area to be discovered in the Sicilian hinterland. We will begin the journey from the meeting point by crossing several very characteristic villages, such as Sant’Angelo Muxaro which will be our first stop. Here we will visit the Sicani necropolis dating back to Minoan times. According to Greek mythology, it was the capital of the Sikani, the pre-Greek people and considered the autochthonous of Sicily. According to legend, the "Kamikos" fortress of Daidalo was built for the Sikano king Kokalos. We will also take a walk through the narrow streets of the small town to the museum which houses some precious archaeological finds. Then we will visit the hermitage of Santa Rosalia alla Quisquina, a mystical and very fascinating place in the heart of the woods, where we will be told about the life of the virgin, patroness of Palermo. The hermitage, an obligatory stop for all pilgrims coming from Palermo, includes, in addition to the "grotto", the church, the crypt and the convent environments such as the cells, the kitchen and the refectory. In the afternoon we will go to Cammarata, considered the flagship of the Sicani mountains. A ruined village at the foot of the homonymous mountain at about 700 meters above sea level. where we will have a lunch in a typical Sicilian restaurant with all the high quality 0 km products of the Sicani mountains, carefully prepared by the chef. After lunch, a light walk in the center of San Giovanni Gemini to discover the Black Christ "Jesus Nazarè" which will reveal a fascinating story.
